Does anyone know of a portable ergonomic keyboard? Looking for something that I can use in hotels, as I'm guessing that it would be difficult to use another keyboard on planes or trains. Would like something that I can throw in a bag and then unfold (?) so that my RSI doesn't get worse.

Ergonomic Keyboard - Vertical Split? I'm using a standard keyboard and my hands, especially wrists, hurt. I started looking for an ergonomic keyboard and found SafeType's Vertical Split keyboard. Has anyone tried it? Is it better than a horizontal split keyboard (like a regular ergonomic one)? Has anyone moved to an ergonomic keyboard and liked it or disliked it?
ergonomic keyboard, which type is best? There are at least a couple different types of ergonomic keyboards - 2 with seperated groups of keys in the middle of the keyboard - 1 bows upperward (outward away from the body) and 1 that bows downward (inward towards the body). Which is best???
should i buy an ergonomic keyboard? my current computer keyboard has just crapped out, 2 letter don't work anymore,....i'm going to buy a replacement....nothing fancy, bare bones basic...my local store has 2 for the same price....one of them is just what i have now, the other is similar but its ergonomic...specifically its the : Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000....it doesn't look hugely ergonomic, like some i've seen....I don't have any eperience using them though...i'm worried if i buy one i'll hate it right away....are they unintuitive to use? or do you settle right in? can anyone recommend them? thanks.
What is the best style of ergonomic keyboard for someone who has had recent multiple wrist surgeries? I have had two surgeries on my wrist this year (one in Feb. to remove a cyst, and another four months later to remove a recurrent cyst). Both surgeries were much more complicated and invasive than your standard cyst removal, so I have been left with two large scars and a good amount of pain. I have finished physical therapy, but still continue to wear a soft brace which supports my wrist and thumb joint as my surgeon suggested. 80% of my time at work is spent typing, and my work has generously offered to purchase me ergonomic keyboards (in addition to all of the other ergonomic improvements they have made). They want me to pick out which kind of keyboard I want for both my Mac and PC, but I have no idea which type would be the best since there are so many to choose from! Most of my pain is in my wrist and thumb joint, so I'm looking for any suggestions as to what kind of keyboards I should have them purchase (split, fixed angle, etc.). Thank you!
Employer wont let girlfriend use her own ergonomic keyboard? My girlfriend has job where she is at the PC alot and she has had carpel tunnel in the past so when she metioned her wrists were bothering her I got her a ergonomic keyboard for her to use at work. She has been using it for over a month and it really has helped but today some guy on her IT staff came by and said "take it home I dont want to deal with the hassel if someone takes it" I did not think they could not do that something with OSHA or the ADA. Am I wrong???
The left ALT button on my keyboard stopped working, what can I do to make it work? I have a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard in which the left ALT button stopped working. The right ALT button still works, but I'm used to using the left ALT button. I had previously spilled pop all over the keyboard, but after a few days, the entire keyboard worked again. Now it's been about 6 months since and this left ALT button problem has just started. I've always tried plugging the keyboard into a different computer with the same results.
Can you tell me how to make my special keyboard buttons work again? I'm using a Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard. There are buttons for my faviourt websites, on the top. They do not work anymore. To get them to work, I have to go to control panel, keyboard, and then manually set them to work. I press OK And the work Until I turn the computer off. Each and every time I turn the computer back on I have to reprogram the buttons. How can I solve this problem, so that they work all the time, without having to reprogram them at least once a day?

Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 malfunctioning, typing random letters/numbers, etc.? At my job I've had this Microsoft keyboard for about 3-4 months and it seemed to work just fine at first. Then our IT guy switched my computer with another computer and I now work with a new driver (?) Asus. I'm not sure which is to blame, but the problem seemed to start right around the time I switched to a new computer. It manages to insert random letters & numbers while I'm in the middle of typing a sentence, it opens several new Firefox windows (there is a hot key for this on the keyboard) and generally just drives me nuts!! There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for it, as it just happens at random times and then will just stop for no reason. Here is an example of what it does while I type: "omg i wa7nt to7 breaK thIS stUP3id computer" Sometimes it goes for weeks without doing this, other times it will go off & on like this all day. Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on or how to fix this??
What is the best ergonomic mouse on the market for the elimination of wrist pain and strain? Let's assume cost isn't the greatest factor...(strain prevention overriding). I spend a good amount of time in front of the computer, and have found that split ergonomic keyboards are really effective in preventing stress in the wrists. Unfortunately, I've been much less successful in finding the perfect mouse. I had been using a Logitech Ergonomic Trackball Mouse, and that hadn't helped; my wrist and the nerves in some of my fingers are still very sore. I recently purchased one of their non-track ball ergonomic wireless mice--which is definitely better (and really cool), but also not 100% effective. Is there a mouse out there that completely alleviates the wrist strain, and best prevents the onset of, or accomodates those who suffer from carpal tunnel?
Anyone know of a keyboard with the command key near the function keys? For work I'm using a program that requires me to push apple (or command) and the function keys - the other hand on the mouse. My hands are smaller and the reach is killing my hand after a few hours. Anyone have any ideas for an alternate keyboard? I don't think an ergonomic keyboard will help since the reach is still the same between function-control.
How to toggle my keyboard between desktop PC and Mac laptop? I used to have a regular PC keyboard and I would tap "scroll lock" twice to toggle between systems. Now I have a Goldtouch keyboard (ergonomic!) in the Mac version but there is no "scroll lock" key. Does anyone know how I can switch between the 2 systems using the same keyboard? I had trouble with control-alt-delete too since there is no alt key, but was told to use option key instead and it worked. I'm hoping there is an alternative for scroll lock as well.
Why arent adjustable/ergonomic keyboards more common? You know those computer keyboards that split down the middle so as to follow the angle of your arms and hands! If these keyboards are soo good for reducing CARPEL TUNNEL and so on why are we not seeing more of these. The current rectanguler keyboards we use right now are supposdly bad for our wrists shoulders and back so why do we continue to use them??? Is the public just not interested in ergonomic keyboards ? Or are manufactures not making them because their lazy or perhaps its just a case of not a big enough demand for them??
Problem on laptop with keyboard PS2 to USB converter? I have a laptop with no PS2 port and want to hook up a microsoft PS2 ergonomic keyboard to it. I tried a PS2 to USB converter but windows says it does not recognize the device. Is there a driver I need and where do I find it?
I want to connect my keyboard to my laptop but it has no PS/2 connection!? I have an ergonomic keyboard with a PS2 (i think this is what the purple ones are?) but my laptop has no connection for it. Is it possible to buy a connector so it can go into the usb port? And I have a few things connected already to the USBs, can you buy an adaptor so I could have two on one?
What's the best computer keyboard for a writer? My new Dell desktop came with this lightweight little keyboard that feels like a toy and flies all over the desk when I try to type. I'm looking for something big, solid and with standard keys. None of those weird ergonomic shapes or keyboards with the keys all wavy. I also don't like the new style of keyboards that have big, flat, shallow keys like a laptop. Since I don't play games, I just need a good, solid thing to type on. Any suggestions?
Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 ? I need some opinions from people who have this keyboard and my question is do you think the keyboard has softer keys, what I mean is like it takes less force to push them down.
