disadvantage of ergonomic keyboard?

- I can't find a study that has found a problem with using something like the Microsoft Natural. The main disadvantage of an ergonomic keyboard is that you really need to have one everywhere you are going to type regularly. If you use one at home you should really get one at work as well. This is because you become used to the position. Any benefit of using an ergo keyboard reduces the more you use non-ergo keyboards. Another issue is that function keys such as Insert and Delete can be in unusual places, and this can take some getting used to. And that spacebar...! If you have small hands, make sure that you test the keyboard before you buy. It would be a shame to have to hover your hands all over the place just to type. An alternative approach to "ergo" is the Dvorak keyboard. The layout increases typing speed because your hands don't have to move so far. I haven't seen an ergo keyboard with a Dvorak layout, but that would be a nice combination.
