Ergonomics Computer

Why arent adjustable/ergonomic keyboards more common?

You know those computer keyboards that split down the middle so as to follow the angle of your arms and hands! If these keyboards are soo good for reducing CARPEL TUNNEL and so on why are we not seeing more of these. The current rectanguler keyboards we use right now are supposdly bad for our wrists shoulders and back so why do we continue to use them??? Is the public just not interested in ergonomic keyboards ? Or are manufactures not making them because their lazy or perhaps its just a case of not a big enough demand for them??

Public Comments

  1. Designers think they are more comfortable. But they aren't.
  2. because most consumers are aligned to the idea of cheap keyboards. so the demand for ergonomics is quite low. hence, the manufacturers won;t make much. but most reputable stores have them.
  3. It is cheaper for a lot of manufacturers to create the standard keyboards as they do not have to purchase a new casting die. Good companies are begining to manufacture these keyboards as they are coming out more and more. Also, when dealing with ergonomics, the public are not informed of the benefits for using such equipment. Also, there are those that use these keyboards wrong, which they give the keyboards a bad review. Also the demand for them are not great as it is cheaper for people to buy a regular keyboard.
