  1. Ergonomics is making devices fit the human body so that their controls are placed or arranged so as to be comfortable and easily reached. In computers this may be a differently shaped keyboard, or an adjustable keyboard tray, or wrist supports to help relieve the stress from repetitive motions typing for long periods of time. Having the keyboard and monitor on adjustable mounts so that they can be adjusted to fit different people can save neck and eye strain.
  2. Add to the above the importance of having an adjustable chair. With all the variations of the human body, and the likelihood of repetitive strain injury (RSI) from sitting motionless for long spells, it is an employer's legal requirement to provide full adjustability of position. Suitable, well-positioned lighting is also an important part of the requirements.
